Customer Success
Danvers Access, Danvers, MA
The heart of an Access station is the playback system, so having a smooth work flow is key to maximizing the
staff and volunteer's time and productivity. Danvers Access asked SSG to install a 3 channel Telvue Digital
Video Broadcast Server with the ability to record a LIVE signal from their existing studio. SSG also provided the
capability to connect into their existing bulletin boards. This studio upgrade lowered the cost of digital playback
entry and provides a migration path for future upgrades.
Medway Cable Access
Read the interview "Medway Cable Access - HD Studio Installation"
After Medway Cable Access' recent HD studio installation, Single Source Group sat down with Studio Manager Joe McLaughlin to find out their reasons for making the switch to HD. Joe not only shared how easy the transition was, but also offered advice how other studios could prepare for the big switch.
North East Addison TV, Addison, Vermont
SSG was contracted by North East Addison TV to upgrade a analog playback system to a state-of-the-art digital playback
system. North East Addison TV needed a solution that would allow them to upgrade to more channels in the future.
SSG designed, installed and trained users. The new audio and video work flow allows staff and volunteers to spend
more time creating content and less time programming schedules.
Salem Community Television
SSG worked with Salem NH Community Television to expand their recording and broadcast capabilities, providing enhanced
event coverage, at an economical cost. We installed four, wall mounted, remotely controlled Sony pan/tilt/zoom cameras
in the gymnasium, allowing Salem NH to record and broadcast events taking place there. Individual camera streams are
seamlessly integrated to a portable controller located at either the studio equipment rack in the main control room
or in the gymnasium.
SSG's solution reduced the overall project cost by utilizing a new Cat5e system instead of expanding the existing
fiber system, eliminating the need for costly fiber equipment, while leaving the system open for future expansion.
The video and audio signals are sent over the Cat5e system from the gymnasium back to the main control room, located
approximately 500 feet away. This solution also allowed them to eliminate the need for a secondary control room.
Events can be streamed or broadcasted live, while simultaneously recording for retrieval at a later date, via a
Video on Demand server.
Stoneham High School, Stoneham, MA
Stoneham High School was unable to air any programming due to an equipment failure. SSG worked with TelVue Corporation
(formally Princeton Server) to get a new Professional Digital Video Broadcast Server installed in their facility and
connected to their existing network. The system has allowed them to control their playback schedule from anywhere
they can find an internet connection, using either their Macintosh or Windows computers. This one feature, along with
other system features, has allowed them to increase their flexibility, time efficiency and ease of use.
